This May, school librarians gathered at the Main Library in downtown Nashville to celebrate 15 dynamic years of collaboration with our Limitless Libraries division. The partnership, beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, now connects more than 90,000 MNPS students, educators, and librarians.
What better way to tie a bow on 15 years of service than with a Percy Jackson-themed School Library of the Year celebration? Taking home the top awards: Amy Jerome, librarian at Andrew Jackson Elementary, and Shannon Meadows, librarian at Julia Green Elementary. The winners — nominated by their school principals and colleagues — each received $1,000 to put toward their school library collections and programming.
It’s been a year of innovation for Limitless Libraries. In March 2025, they debuted a custom-made bookmobile at Rocketship United Academy in South Nashville. Since then, the bookmobile has made seven visits to Metro Nashville Public School charter schools, as well as visits to NPL branch locations. The bookmobile staff have helped 450 visitors check out 440 books and other items, and they’ll continue making the rounds this summer to library branches and community sites.
Fifteen years in, the mission of Limitless Libraries remains constant: to give our local students, educators, and librarians access to the best collections possible.
We can’t wait to see the story unfold in the years to come.
