Ann Patchett spoke about her book State of Wonder, on June 28, 2011, as part of the Salon@615 author series. The talk preceded the November 2011 opening of Parnassus Books, a independent bookstore in Nashville, Tennessee, co-founded by Ann Patched and Karen Hayes.

Patchett describes her early experiences as an author on tour and talks about the importance of independent bookstores to the literary landscape.
