Childcare Centers & Preschools
The Bringing Books to Life! program helps teachers find fun and innovative ways to promote books in their classrooms. Together with teachers, we strive to inspire children to want to read.
Bringing Books to Life! offers two components to Childcare Centers and Preschools:
Preschool Literacy Program
The Preschool Literacy Program is our main partnership opportunity for childcare centers and preschools. Any child care center in Davidson County that enrolls children ages 3 to 5 in a full-time preschool or pre-kindergarten program may participate. Child care providers or teachers at participating centers are eligible to receive up to 6 professional development hours.
There are three components to the Preschool Literacy Program:
- In-service days (teachers)
- Story times and a visit from the Puppet Truck (children)
- Workshops and other resources (parents)
Additional Training Opportunities
Once an initial partnership has been established through the Preschool Literacy Program, centers are eligible to host any other training opportunities we provide.
